Ving: Travel boom on the charter from Jönköping

There is travel fever among Swedes and the residents of Jönköping are no exception. In the last month, bookings for Ving's trips from Jönköping Airport have increased by as much as 130 percent compared to the month before, and the occupancy for the summer is now at the same levels as the tour operator had at the same time in 2020. The sports holiday trips are largely completely sold out and before Easter, 6 out of 10 trips are already booked. A summer news is that Croatia is back in the program.

  • We are seeing a fantastic upswing in bookings right now so the high pressure reflected in the regional airports is not surprising. There is undeniably a great pent-up desire to travel, both in the near term and in the future, and the fact that we are now in the same occupancy as before the pandemic is incredibly gratifying. It's also extra fun that we can once again offer trips to Croatia from Jönköping, which we know are highly anticipated, says Claes Pellvik, communications manager Ving.

During the current winter, Ving offers direct flights with Jettime to Gran Canaria every Thursday, and starting on April 25, the season begins to Mallorca, where Ving flies with its own airline Sunclass Airlines every Tuesday until August 1. During the latter part of August until the end of September, traffic to Croatia starts in cooperation with the airline BRA. The last time Ving offered trips to Split was in 2019.

But it's not just the summer trips that attract. Ving is now also releasing next winter's trips from Jönköping Airport and for all Jönköping residents who are longing for the Canary Islands there is good news as Ving will also offer charter trips to Gran Canaria for the next winter season.

  • It feels great that we are already back at 2019's level. We are extra happy about Ving's investment in departures to Split later this year. This allows us to offer summer charters to the sun every week, from the end of April to the end of September, says Henrik Älverdal, Commercial Manager at Jönköping Airport.
