The skiing is truly in a league of its own; since over 90% of the slopes are situated above 2,000 meters, the season lasts longer here than in many other places. The slopes are generally wide and perfect for carving, with virtually no crowding. The lift system is modern—in fact, one of the most advanced in the Alps—allowing you to get around quickly regardless of when in the season you visit. We highly recommend taking the wonderful "Smugglers Run" down to Samnaun in Switzerland, where you can enjoy tax-free shopping and a delicious lunch. There are several good restaurants on the mountain, but we strongly suggest booking a table to secure the best spots. Top tip: book a table at La Marmotte and ask for a seat on the small balcony. The Village
The first thing you notice when walking around Ischgl is how clean and tidy everything is. It is clear that the village’s appearance matters to the locals. With a charming pedestrian street stretching from one end of the village to the other—lined with small shops, cafés, restaurants, and bars—it is easy to fall in love with this Alpine gem. Enjoying a coffee with a view of the surrounding mountains is never a bad way to rest tired legs.
Après-ski in Ischgl
Ischgl’s après-ski scene is legendary, and rightly so. Kitzloch, located by the Pardatschgratbahn lift, delivers an unbeatable party atmosphere featuring dancing in ski boots and enthusiastic sing-alongs. If you are staying closer to the Silvrettabahn lift, venues like Kuhstall and Fire and Ice ensure that no party-goer leaves disappointed.
