Popular ski charter expands from Jönköping
Next year, there will be even more ski charter departures from Jönköping Airport. For the past two winters, direct ski charter flights from Jönköping to the Alps have been available; now, the tour operator Lion Alpin is expanding its offering by adding two more departures for the upcoming winter season.
After two years of a successful departure during Week 6 from Jönköping to St. Gallen, Switzerland, skiers in southern Sweden can look forward to an expanded schedule of three departures next year. In addition to Week 6, there will be flights during the "sports break" weeks of Week 7 and Week 8.
"Our goal is to tailor each traveler's trip to ensure a well-planned and smartly packaged holiday where every detail is in place, allowing all time to be spent on the actual purpose of the trip: the vacation itself. This means offering flexibility and the opportunity to start your holiday regardless of where in the country you live. Jönköping is ideally situated geographically, giving many of our travelers the chance to begin their holiday closer to home," says Johan Gunnarsson, Sales Manager at Lion Alpin.
Lion Alpin customers can choose from charter packages to classic Alpine resorts such as St. Anton, Ischgl, and Obergurgl/Sölden. A wide range of accommodation options is available, from well-equipped apartments near the children's slopes to luxury spa hotels and genuinely cozy guesthouses. A new hotel addition for the season is Hotel Silbertal in Sölden—a truly unique hotel situated at an altitude of 2,000 meters, offering panoramic views of the Alps.

Travelers have previously been surprised right at Jönköping Airport by a wonderful Alpine atmosphere featuring music, pretzels, drinks, and airport staff dressed in lederhosen—a tradition likely to continue this coming season.

For Lion Alpin, this expansion is a natural step in developing Jönköping as a departure point.
“Thanks to the fantastic cooperation and commitment shown by Jönköping Airport, it was an obvious choice for us to scale up our operations for the coming winter and offer more of our guests the chance to book a more convenient holiday featuring what we believe are the season’s most charming departures,” concludes Johan.
Flights operated by People’s Airline depart from Jönköping around midday on Saturdays; after a flight of just over two hours, travelers are transferred by bus to their respective ski resorts. Lion Alpin’s dedicated guides meet guests upon arrival and remain available around the clock to ensure a perfect ski holiday.
