Open House May 9
On Saturday, May 9, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, we welcome you to an Open House at the airport. We are also celebrating our 65th anniversary this year, and we want to mark the occasion in a special way. We look forward to seeing you for an action-packed day! We have gathered all the information you need for the event on this page.
Important! High noise levels may occur during the event – hearing protection is recommended. Please bring hearing protection for small children. Pets should be left at home.
Getting here
We encourage carpooling—feel free to fill your car with friends, family, and neighbors! If you prefer not to drive yourself, take the bus. Buses run every hour to and from the airport, departing from Juneporten in Jönköping. The bus drops you off right at the terminal—very convenient and comfortable.

Parking
Carpooling is encouraged. Please anticipate heavy traffic and queues. Free parking is available in designated areas. Accessible parking spaces are clearly marked and located in area P1, in the first row. Event staff will be on-site to guide you—please be considerate and follow their instructions. Park only in permitted areas. You are welcome to arrive early, but the gates do not open until 10:00 AM. 
Entrance
Admission to the event is free.
The main entrance is next to the gate by the Air Traffic Control Tower. The terminal building is open. Please follow the directional signs for entry and exit.

Round flight helicopter
Savback Helicopters — At Öppet hus it is possible to fly a helicopter with the helicopter company Heli Air Sweden, a partner of Savback. You book and pay for your place at Heli Air's booth at Mässtorget on the current day, May 9. See the current location on the Event map. Places are limited. First come, first served. NB, no advance booking is possible.
Mini disco with Lollo & Bernie
Have you met Lollo & Bernie in the land of the sun? At Öppet hus, everyone who likes these lovely mascots has the opportunity to dance and hug with them. On two occasions there will be a mini disco with a subsequent hug party. The mini disco takes place in front of the big stage outdoors at Mässtorget. Lollo & Bernie are very excited to meet everyone at Öppet hus in Jönköping! See you!
Jönköping Airport
Welcome to a fast-paced and wonderful day with us!
Take a look at our airport vehicles and fire engines. There will also be a rescue demonstration. See the program for exact times for these. A must is also to swing by our Travelshop with fantastic prices on perfume, candy and chocolate. You can find the shop in the gate.
The Swedish Armed Forces, Blekinge Air Fleet F17, Flight JAS 39 Gripen
Have you always wanted to get up close and personal with a JAS 39 Gripen? During the Open House you have the chance! A JAS 39 Gripen will be standing on the aircraft platform. There will also be two aerial displays featuring a JAS 39 Gripen. Check the schedule for exact times. Pop in your earplugs and enjoy the show!
Gustav Salminen – Aerobatic Display
He performs maneuvers with his real aircraft that you couldn't even pull off with a paper plane! Hailing from Jönköping, Gustav is a world champion in glider aerobatics and a multiple-time Nordic and Swedish champion—in both powered and unpowered categories. He performs incredible aerial feats that will leave you absolutely awestruck. Get ready for a spectacular show!
Hemvärnsflyget
Home Guard Aviation was established in 1993 at the behest of the Swedish Armed Forces. These military aviation units form an integral part of the Home Guard battalions. The pilots are members of the Home Guard and are classified as combat personnel. At the Open House on May 9, we will be showcasing our operations—feel free to stop by and talk aviation with us!
The Police
A warm welcome to meet us at the Open House. We will be demonstrating police drones. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions about the police profession and the training involved.
Savback Helicopters
Savback Helicopters is an international, independent supplier of new and pre-owned aircraft and helicopters. Since 1990, Savback Helicopters has sold over 1,000 helicopters to private, public, and commercial clients. Savback Helicopters has recently opened an office at Jönköping Airport. At the Open House, you have the chance to take a helicopter flight with Heli Air Sweden, a partner of Savback. You can book and pay for your seat at the Heli Air stand in the exhibition area (Mässtorget) on the day of the event, May 9. Please check the event map for the exact location. Seats are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Note: advance booking is not possible.
Ving
This summer and autumn, you can travel to the sun in Mallorca, Rhodes, and Cyprus with the charter operator Ving—flying directly from Jönköping. Ving’s wonderful mascots, Lollo & Bernie, will be on site to host a mini-disco followed by a hug-fest on two occasions during the day. Please check the program for exact times.

We operate bus depots in Jönköping, Nässjö, and Eksjö. Our Jönköping depot—located right next to the airport—houses traffic control, the workshop, and all other service functions for the company’s operations.
Smålandsbussen offers all types of bus services. With a fleet of around 60 buses of various sizes, we are well-equipped to handle any kind of trip, whether within Småland or across Europe. Come take a look inside one of our buses at our Open House!
Jönköping Flying Club
Open House: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Come and experience what it’s like to fly!
- Introductory flight (try your hand at the controls)
- The flight school explains the requirements for becoming a pilot ahead of the autumn training course
- View aircraft and chat with pilots
- Refreshments: Grilled hamburgers, waffles, ice cream, coffee, and drinks. Note: Queues may occur. Flights may be limited or cancelled in the event of bad weather.

Prokitor Aerotech
Prokitor Aerotech is an EASA-approved aircraft maintenance facility with bases at Jönköping Airport (ESGJ) and Eskilstuna Airport (ESSU). In our modern, heated hangar, we offer maintenance for piston-engine aircraft and helicopters, as well as component maintenance; we are also Garmin dealers and perform all types of avionics upgrades. Come visit our hangar at Jönköping Airport during the Open House and take a look at our operations!
Jönköping Aviation Interest Association
We are a non-profit association active in the Municipality of Jönköping. The purpose of the Jönköping Aviation Interest Association is to promote the preservation of Jönköping’s aviation history and its airports. We achieve this by collecting photos, articles, artifacts, recorded personal memories, and more. The material will eventually be published on a website and potentially in book form. Furthermore, the association organizes gatherings and trips to cultural-historical organizations, and our members serve as ambassadors for the airport. We look forward to seeing you at the Open House on May 9th!
Green Airport
Come talk to us about sustainability at the Open House! "Green Airport" is a climate initiative uniting Sweden’s regional airports in the pursuit of sustainable travel. The vision is a future free from emissions that brings people closer together. Green Airport is a collaborative project organized by the Swedish Regional Airports association (SRF).
FAK (Swedish Voluntary Motor Transport Corps) – Jönköping County
FAK is a nationwide voluntary organization dedicated to providing advanced training for drivers to ensure the continuity of heavy transport operations during crises. We maintain an extensive network and collaborate with other organizations, government agencies, and businesses. FAK plays an integral role in Sweden’s crisis preparedness and total defense system. Come visit us at the Open House to learn more about our organization!
SHRA Drag Racing
SHRA Jönköping is a non-profit motor club founded in 1975, focusing on drag racing, American cars, and related motorsport disciplines such as drifting and hot rods. We have around 160 members of all ages who share a passion for motorsports. Come visit us at the Open House to check out a junior drag racing car and talk motorsports with us!

There will be several opportunities to purchase food and drink during the event. Restaurant Momento Airport is open and offers a variety of lunch options. In front of the terminal building, there is a plaza featuring several food trucks.

The airport restaurant offers a range of lunch options for the day, focusing on traditional Swedish home-style cooking, with both indoor and outdoor seating. We will also be selling hot dogs outdoors in front of the terminal building. A warm welcome to you!
Bada Bing
When we think of hamburgers, we think of flavor, atmosphere, and attention to detail. Try one of our fantastic burgers during the Open House! You can find our food truck outside the terminal building.
Lorettas
Think Italy. Think Neapolitan-style pizza. It doesn’t get any better than this. Our pizzas are always baked using the finest ingredients. You can find our food truck outside the terminal building. Welcome!
Mätta Magen
Welcome to our Open House! Here, you can choose from a variety of Thai dishes, all prepared from scratch with love. You can find our food truck outside the terminal building.
Jönköping Flying Club
We offer grilled hamburgers, waffles, ice cream, coffee, and other beverages. Access the flying club via our main entrance on Flygplatsvägen. A warm welcome to you!

To help us plan for your visit, please register in advance via email. We ask photographers and reporters to wear a clearly visible press or photo vest during their visit.
