Lion Alpin launches ski charter flights from Jönköping Airport to the Alps.

It is about to become even more convenient for ski enthusiasts in the Jönköping area to travel to the Alps this winter. Lion Alpin, one of Scandinavia’s leading ski charter operators, is launching direct charter flights for the first time from Jönköping Airport to the classic ski resorts of St. Anton, Ischgl, and Obergurgl/Sölden.

The flight departs from Jönköping Airport for St. Gallen, Switzerland, on Saturday, February 1, at 1:25 PM. Upon arrival just over two hours later, travelers will be transported by bus to their respective ski resorts. Six wonderful days of skiing await in some of the Alps' most popular ski areas. The return flight departs a week later, on February 8, arriving back in Jönköping at 1:35 PM.

"We have many guests living in the region who currently fly out of Landvetter or Arlanda, so it is fantastic to now offer an even more convenient solution with direct flights from Jönköping’s pleasant airport—and to some of the absolute best ski areas in the Alps, no less," says Johan Edsler, Sales Manager at Lion Alpin.

The ski charter operator’s initiative at Jönköping Airport marks the first time in many years that such a service has been launched outside the major hubs of Kastrup, Arlanda, and Landvetter. For Jönköping Airport, the ski charter represents a brand-new and long-awaited offering.

For these flights, Lion Alpin has engaged the Swiss airline People’s Airline, which will operate an Embraer 170 aircraft with a capacity of 76 passengers. The aircraft can accommodate a limited number of ski bags, and those wishing to rent gear have the option to pre-book a complete ski equipment package through Lion Alpin.
